ProCon Latte

Safe surfing for all the family Everybody knows that along with all the cool things on the Internet, there's also a whole lot of unpleasant stuff. It's only natural, then, that parents and guardians want to protect their children and one of the best ways of doing this is by installing a content filter. There's only one problem: lots of kids are smart enough to disable and otherwise get around these filters. ProCon Latte is a program that aims to put an end to this. The application is a Firefox add-on that normally sits quietly in the taskbar, green when a site is safe and yellow when the application suspects it might contain prohibited material. Clicking on the ProCon Latte icon will bring up a configuration menu where you can tailor the filtering to your needs. The best thing about ProCon Latte is precisely these configuration options. From this little menu you can not only block "traditional" prohibited content, but also tailor the program to block any words or sites you choose, making it much more versatile. Not only can you prevent users from viewing this content, you can also set ProCon Latte to replace words you deem profane with substitutes of your choice and include a personalized message to appear when the user tries to access a blocked site. Last, but not least, you can set a password for ProCon Latte to ensure that the only person to change the settings is you. ProCon Latte uses a variety of methods to effectively prevent the viewing of unsuitable material while online.
